Perler Bead Designs, Patterns and Ideas
Basically you create a design on a plastic plate using plastic beads and then melt it once it's done with an iron used over a piece of parchment paper. Below are a bunch of fun Perler bead designs and ideas that my 9 year-old son and I have created. There's a little bit of something for everyone.

Perler is a brand name, you can also find them called Hama beads, and there are also lots of 'generic' fusible/melty beads like the big tub we got from Ikea. Not all fusible beads are created equal. We've found the Ikea ones are great, and good value, but other cheaper generic ones we tried were not as good.

Candies. Gold Foil. Freezer. Irish. Luck o' the Irish melted perler bead bowl. Spray a Pyrex bowl with pam. Place a single layer of beads in the bottom and up the sides. Bake at 400* for 13 mins (approx.). Place in freezer for 5 mins and bowl will release. Rinse with water and fill with gold foil wrapped candies.

I set the temperature of my iron to a medium heat. When your iron is warm enough, press firmly on the ironing paper and slowly move around. I take a look at the perler bead creation about every 30 seconds or so to see how well the beads are melting together. When the beads are melted together, let the craft cool off.
